Braiding Cornrows

Braiding Cornrows | Afaram Shop
1. Part

Use the handle of the comb to divide the hair into sections. The size and number of cornrows will depend on your desired style. Secure the sections that you are not yet braiding with clips or hair elastics.

2. Section off smaller sections

Take a small section of hair at the front hairline of the first section. Divide this section into three even strands.

3. Start braiding

Start with a normal three strand braid by placing the right strand over the middle strand and then the left strand over the middle strand.

4. Add hair

At each braiding step, add small sections of hair from the scalp as you braid along the scalp. This is the key step in cornrows to keep the hair close to the scalp.

6. Repeat

Repeat the process for all other sections until all the hair is braided.

6. Cleansing the scalp

Even though your hair is braided, it's important to keep your scalp clean. Use a mild shampoo or a cleansing spray specially formulated for braids. Gently massage the scalp and rinse thoroughly to remove any residue.
